New VIP Announcement from Whisky Ottawa! SOLD OUT

Patrick Van Zuidam is the Managing Director of Zuidam Distillers in Baarle-Nassau, Netherlands, and was to be our VIP presenter this year. Wow! What a lineup of amazing whiskies he had for us to experience here in Ottawa! Many of which, if not all, were ones that you’ve almost certainly never tried before.  Unfortunately, due to an accidental injury, Patrick is unable to travel for the foreseeable future and will not be able to join us this year. We wish Patrick a speedy recovery and are hopeful to have him back with us in 2024!

Welcome Dougal Barr – Douglas Laing Global Brand Ambassador, our new VIP presenter.

With a Masters in Scottish History from the University of Edinburgh and well over a decade of public speaking experience, Dougal found the world of Whisky a very organic and natural fit when he stepped into discussing Scotland’s largest and most famous export. Having worked with world renowned brands such as Auchentoshan, Bowmore, Laphroaig and Glen Garioch over several years with Beam Suntory, Dougal had the perfect knowledge base to step into the diverse world of Douglas Laing & Co as their Global Brand Ambassador. Whether it is an education in blending and Blended Malts with the Remarkable Regional Malts Series or deep-diving into the wonderful world of independently bottled Single Cask expressions, you can expect a passionate, easy-going discussion around the wonderful history of Scotch whisky, the science behind it and the delights it can offer up to the newcomer and seasoned whisky drinking veteran alike.

First on the calendar, Friday, Sept. 29, is the Unique Executive Experience (NEW); Then followed by our Masterclass Series, being held at the Ottawa Shaw Centre, mid-afternoon, Saturday, Sept 30th,  

Then on Saturday, Sept. 30, Whisky Ottawa presents the VIP Exclusive Experience, followed by the Grand Tasting Hall, Whisky Ottawa's main event. Either your General Admission ticket or your VIP Exclusive Experience ticket to the Grand Tasting Hall gets you a commemorative Glencairn nosing glass, as well as all whisky samples and some light snacks.

Whisky Ottawa has expanded our Masterclass programming again with more Masterclasses that are open to the general public and Whisky Ottawa ticket holders at the Shaw Centre on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30th. The Masterclass information is updated,  

When you purchase a VIP Exclusive Experience, a private VIP Tutored Whisky Tasting and entry to the Grand Tasting Hall on Saturday, Sept. 30 is included. You do not have to register for your private VIP Tutored Whisky Tasting. Following your private tasting, your VIP ticket gets you on the sampling floor at 6:00 PM. one hour before the GA ticket holders.

2023, the 9th edition of Whisky Ottawa on Sept. 30. Your General Admission ticket and 7 pm start again bring together more whiskies under one roof than ever before in Ottawa! Your ticket is all-inclusive of your whisky samples, as well as light snacks created by the Chefs of the Shaw Centre. This fantastic 9th edition event has a “smart casual” dress code and will be located in the Shaw Centre.
